Palliative Care TeleECHO Clinic

More information

Session meets 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

*Staring July 2nd the Palliative Care teleECHO Clinic will be moving to the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. The time will remain the same at 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The World Health Organization defines Palliative Care as "an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual." The Palliative Care TeleECHO Clinic assists clinicians who lack access to palliative care specialists. An interdisciplinary team of palliative consultants supports and educates providers in the provision of multifaceted palliative care. The clinic includes didactic presentations by specialists, and case presentations by community clinicians for discussion, feedback and recommendations. Clinicians are also given access to evidence-based educational resources. An environment of group learning and the use of best practice protocols will reduce variations in care and improve outcomes for seriously ill patients and their families.
