Wesley Pak, MBA
|
On numerous occasions Wesley has represented UNM and
Internal Medicine at national conferences promoting
Project ECHO. Telehealth equipment is key to
connecting rural areas with specialty care and
Wesley's job is to ensure that local physicians not
only have the equipment necessary, but, also the
knowledge on how to operate it properly. He not only
goes the extra mile for fellow staff members, but,
he also expects the same from those who work for
him. He leads by example and as a result has
established a dynamic and knowledgeable Technology
Team. He is a true team member.

DoIM Distinguished Service Award
Wesley is a
visionary. He is the director of IT services for
Project ECHO. He is largely responsible for the
technological advances at ECHO which have allowed
Dr. Arora and the ECHO team to make strong progress
in increasing access to care for vulnerable
patients. He figured out how to achieve substantial
cost savings while boosting the ability of rural
providers to become part of ECHO's knowledge
networks. Wesley has led ECHO, and Internal
Medicine, to winning several awards: Leadership in
Distance Learning Program Administration Award from
the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA),
eHealth Initiative Award "Transforming Care Delivery
at the Point of Care" and the Computerworld Honors
Program Laureate. His dedication to improving
healthcare and increasing access for rural patients
is reflected in the School of Medicine's receiving
the Foreman award for advancements in community
health.
