A New Norm for Health Care:

The First Convening of the Global ECHO Community

The ECHO model was created to break down the walls between specialty care and primary care. It is an innovative teaching tool that demonopolizes medical knowledge and allows patients to get the care they need, right where they live. On September 11-13, 2014, the first convening of the Global ECHO community was held in Albuquerque, NM. This meeting brought together all of Project ECHO’s replication partners in the U.S. and globally, as well as government officials, other policymakers, health policy experts, and funders and philanthropists interested in maximizing the impact of the ECHO model.
